Skin Needling

Micro-needling to boost collagen production and reduce scars, fine lines and uneven skin tone.

About this Treatment:

Dermal skin needling, also known as microneedling, is a cosmetic procedure that involves using a device with tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. This process stimulates the skin’s natural healing response, leading to improved collagen production and can help to address concerns such as acne scars, fine lines, and uneven skin texture. It’s a popular option for those looking to improve the appearance of their skin in a minimally invasive way.

How it works

Micro-needling is a form of collagen induction therapy, using tiny needles to stimulate the body’s natural wound healing response. In this response, new tissue and skin cells are formed, producing significant improvements to the tone and texture of the skin. This process is delivered utilising a device called a Skinpen. Compared to other needling treatments, SkinPen is safer, producing more dramatic results, with less downtime.

The number of treatments required will depend on your individual skin type and concern. Generally, best results come from 3 treatments, 4 weeks apart. A custom treatment plan that’s right for you will be advised at your consultation.

Our SkinPen is FDA and TGA approved. SkinPen is the only needling device recognised by the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods and can only be administered by trained clinicians, ensuring the highest class of sterility and depth precision.

Skin needling WILL NOT be performed if any of the following apply to you:

  • Where you have any suspicious looking skin blemishes or moles without a letter of consent from your medical practitioner or skin cancer specialist.
  • Within 2 weeks of you having an injectable dermal filler or botox.
  • If you have raised moles, warts or lesions.
  • If you have a medical history of auto-immune disorder.
  • If you are currently taking certain medications (some medications may reduce healing time.)
  • If you are suffering active herpes or a severe acne breakout. Once resolved, the treatment can go ahead after a period of 2 weeks has elapsed.
